Ultra Windows KNOWLEDGE CENTER
Windows have become very technologically advanced during the past 10 years. What was once a simple piece of glass set into a wood or aluminum frame, has become a high performance insulated glass pack designed to block heat and UV light, sealed into a custom sized, thermally efficient frame.
Understanding the technology behind state-of-the-art windows can be confusing, however there are resources available to help homeowners evaluate the insulating capacity and the durability of a particular window - which enables you to compare competing products on an "apples-to-apples" basis.
The NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) and AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association), conduct independent, 3rd party testing on 95% of all window and door products to measure their energy efficiency and durability. These test results are available to the public through their respective web sites.
An informed consumer is far more likely to be satisfied with their new windows in the years to come! Use the Knowledge Center drop down in the menu above to access our growing list of pages added to the Ultra Windows knowledge base, or simply click on a link below.
