PRODUCT CERTIFICATION

Houston is hard on windows. Consider the effects of the following:

  1. Our clay soil is constantly contracting and expanding, causing our houses to shift, and putting dynamic pressures on the windows.
  2. Hurricanes and tropical storms occasionally blow through with their damaging winds and torrential downpours which cause rain to be blown horizontally.
  3. Extreme heat and humidity cause exterior products to contract and expand to their maximum capability - and beyond.
NFRCIn order to stand-up to these natural forces, a window must be well constructed, and thoroughly tested. There are two non-profit, national organizations that test and certify windows and doors; AAMA (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) and NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council). These organizations allow consumers, architects, and contractors to compare competing products on an "apples-to-apples" basis and serve as the backbone of the U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Star program.

AAMA labelUltra Windows will not sell and/or install products which are not certified by both the AAMA & NFRC. There is no other agency which can provide trustworthy documentation of a window's performance. Without third party certification, all you have is a contractor's promise of quality!
